Guidry was one of the most dominating pitchers of his time, winning 170 games in 14 seasons with Yankees. In 1978, Ron was awarded the American League Cy Young Award with a 25-3 record to go along with a league leading 1.73 ERA. It was during that season that he also set a Yankee record by striking out 18 batters on June 17th, 1978. Guidry would go on to win two World Series titles with the Yankees on teams that would feature stars Reggie Jackson and Thurman Munson.
